The first thing we do when laying a tarmac driveway is to excavate the existing driveway to about 200mm. We then lay a high grade membrane on top to prevent any weeds from growing through. If we are laying a border using block paving then this will be laid first. A sub base is then laid onto the membrane. It will be compated either mechanically or manually. We then pour on the first layer of tarmac. This will be levelled off using a roller. Another layer is applied and again smoothed out with the roller. By the time we are finished, you will be left with a lovely smooth finish and a perfect driveway just like our clients from Lancashire.
